GM's
The EV1 (Electric Vehicle) was a marvel of engineering built by GM to comply with California's zero-emissions-vehicle mandate laws during the mid-1990’s. However, most Americans were, and still are not aware of this car’s existence.

It was initially leased primarily in Southern California. GM killed the entire program and recalled all the EV1s. Most of them were literally destroyed, crushed, and shredded.

Many famous Hollywood stars leased the First Generation of the EV-1 such as Tom Hanks, Danny DeVito and others. This was a car that everyone absolutely loved and did not want to give back to GM.
